You Mad? Hawks Players Talk After Being Blown Out By Cavs

The Atlanta Hawks were blown out in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals on Wednesday night by the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavs set an NBA record with 25 made threes! It’s just one game, but they are down 0-2. After the game a couple of Hawks players had some things to say about the Cavs, but insist they weren’t mad. In quotes pulled from Cleveland.com, Paul Millsap said:

I’m not mad about it, but just being professionals man. If that’s how you want to approach it, that’s how you approach it. I think our team and our organization has class and I don’t think we would have continued to do that, but other organizations do other things so what can you do about it?

Kent Bazemore said:

I’m a firm believer in karma.

I don’t know about you, but those sound like the words of mad players. And, rightfully so. But, they shouldn’t be mad at the Cavs for making 25 threes or for having too much fun while doing it. They should be mad at themselves for getting embarrassed the way they did.

This is the playoffs, nothing is promised or guaranteed. NBA playoff history is littered with huge leads being squandered, you keep playing until the final buzzer. I’m not one to get emotional over another team celebrating or “running up the score.” Simple solution to that, if you don’t like it, play better defense and stop them.
