Trying to understand human behavior is a complex, and often maddening exercise. Imagine trying to understand why someone would set out to commit a crime, record said criminal activity and post it to their victim’s Snapchat account? What?!
According to the Sun Sentinel, 18 year old Smith Dorcent of Boynton Beach, Florida tied up a 17-year-old girl, beat her with a belt and then filmed himself attacking her — before uploading the video to Snapchat.
The arrest report said Dorcent forced the victim to unlock her phone after she refused to give him her password. When the video was uploaded to her Snapchat account several of her friends recognized she was being attacked and called the police. Dorcent was subsequently arrested and held at the Palm Beach County Jail on $50,000 bail.
I have no words…
