Apparently supporting Donald Trump isn’t making Herschel Walker great again…
Speaking with TMZ, according to the former Heisman Trophy winner, every since he came out in support of Mr. Trump, he has had the toughest of times getting speaking engagements.
Walker, who has an extensive history with the GOP frontrunner going all the way back to 1984, was, along with former University of Indiana coach Bob Knight, one of Trump’s first big celebrity endorsers. Even praising his former USFL & “Celebrity Apprentice” boss as a brilliant man who will truly make America great again.
But after he went public, Walker says he started getting axed from speaking gigs — most recently getting canceled from an event in California because organizers were afraid Walker would attract anti-Trump protesters.
Walker wouldn’t name the groups who turned him away — but he did say that it has happened at least 3 times in various states. Despite the backlash, Walker says he will NOT stop supporting Trump — insisting he’s the best man for the job.
I’m not one to jump into the political arena with anyone on a personal level, but I sure hope that people aren’t taking food off of this man’s table because they don’t agree with the person he’s supporting in November.
