I must admit, I am fascinated by lions (and large jungle cats in general). I think they’re intelligent, ruthlessly savage yet graceful, creatures. Apparently, a man at a zoo in India thought so highly of the lions he needed to meet them up close and personal.
According to The Times of India the 35-year-old man, identified as an L&T Metro Rail employee named Mukesh, got tipsy on Sunday and decided to head to the Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad, India. During his visit he hopped the railing into the lion enclosure.
BuzzFeed reported that Mukesh attempted to shake hands with the lion, and screamed “Please come to me, my darling, please” several times.
Thankfully Mukesh wasn’t harmed and the zoo officials were able to rescue him without any incident. What is it with zoos and people being able to get so close to the animals? Someone should look into that.
