I hope Klay Thompson and Draymond Green didn’t think their comments regarding the “Showtime” Lakers would go unnoticed, especially by Magic Johnson.
To catch you up, following their impressive 33 point victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers, during the press conference, Thompson and Green was asked could the Warriors be compared to any team of a previous era. Well, Thompson knew exactly who to mention and it was the team Thompson’s father was apart of.
“We are better than the ‘Showtime’ Lakers,” Klay Thompson said, interrupting teammate Draymond Green.
But Green had a softer and logical answer.
“I think it’s all subjective,” Green said before Thompson jumped in. “To say we’re better than the ‘Showtime’ Lakers, how can you say that? We never played them.”
And like clockwork, anytime someone mentions his Lakers, Magic is ready to defend. He caught wind of the comments and took to twitter to address the conversation.
I disagree with Mychal Thompson and his son Klay, my "Showtime" Lakers would beat the Warriors.

Magic wasn’t finished there. He made an appearance on ESPN’s “First Take” to further explain his reasoning.
“We’ve never seen two guys who can shoot like Steph [Curry] and Klay [Thompson], and I give them that,” Johnson said Tuesday on First Take. “But they’ve never ran up against somebody like us. I’m telling you, whoever is going to dog me, I’m going to be wearing them down. I’m going to be wearing them out. James Worthy will be wearing them out, wearing them down. Kareem [Abdul-Jabbar] is going to be wearing them out, wearing them down.”
What do you guys think? Not only are we discussing the athletic ability of the two teams, but you have to think about the physical play during Magic’s time. We can all agree that the NBA isn’t what it use to be, and I personally don’t think the Warriors can run with an in-shape Lakers. Out-shoot? Maybe, but I got my money on the dominance of the “Showtime” Lakers.
