CBS News has confirmed that Orlando shooter, identified as Omar Mateen, called 911 and pledged allegiance to terrorist group, ISIS. He referenced Boston marathon bombers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev during the call as well.
Although authorities have stated that Mateen has been on their radar “in the last five years”, he was not under investigation at the time of the shooting.
ISIS has not officially taken credit for the attack which bore resemblance to the attacks in Paris and Brussels.
