Donald Trump was back at it with offensive, racially charged remarks during a rally in Richmond, VA Friday.
The presidential hopeful expressed faux remorse for calling Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) “Pocahontas,” a jab at her claim that she is of Native American descent.
“I”m doing such a disservice to Pocahontas,” the loquacious NY businessman said during a 55-minute speech that went against his recent attempts to appear more “presidential”.
Warren has been outspoken with her criticisms of Trump and has often been mentioned as a potential running mate for Hilary Clinton should Clinton secure the Democratic candidacy.
Trumps remarks garnered chants of “Build the wall!” and “USA! USA!”. Trump’s rallies have often sparked violence and this one was no different. A group of Trump backers with “Wall” signs walked into a crowd of protesters. Police had to intervene when the two groups began shoving and striking one another.
Friday’s rally drew 6,000 people to the 12,000 seat Richmond Coliseum with about a day’s notice.
