Fortunately for Jacksonville Jaguars running back Denard Robinson, he was able to shake off the effects of fatigue behind the wheel before it was too late.
CBS 47/Fox 30 is reporting that NFL player fell asleep behind the wheel of his car on July 3rd. The vehicle careened off road and landed in a retention pond and began sinking. As the car descended into the water, police responded and found Robinson still asleep behind the wheel and female passenger in the car. Despite the officers knocking on the window, Robinson drifted in and out of sleep until being informed his car was sinking into the abyss.
“I explained that their vehicle was in a pond and that they needed to exit,” the officer wrote in the report.
The report goes on to say that the female passenger refused to exit the car and had to be physically pulled to safety. When he returned to the accident site to retrieve Robinson, he believed he was still in the car. Ultimately cops concluded he was not impaired at the time of the accident.
