If Jim Harbaugh does get the Michigan Wolverines to the College Football Playoffs and a return to college football’s elite — remember the shrewd move to go beyond just signing a contract with Nike, but being the first team to wear the Jordan Brand outright.
To commemorate the historic deal — the NBA’s GOAT will return to college — serving as the honorary captain for the Wolverines season opener Sept. 3 opener against Hawaii, coach Jim Harbaugh revealed Friday on “The Rich Eisen Show.”
“Coach has been the one talking to [Jordan] and extended the invite,” a university spokesman told ESPN.
Jordan will reportedly address the team as well.
Michigan signed a deal with Nike in April for $173.8 million — with both the football and basketball program taking part.
