Kevin Durant was introduced as the newest star of the Golden State Warriors on Thursday, and he seems to be fitting in already — looking comfy as he gushed about the family atmosphere in Oakland after getting over a bout of the nerves.
After buying into the family approach and team camaraderie — KD is in no hurry to go through free agency again — making it clear that he wasn’t about to opt-out next summer, to chase more money.
“I plan on being here,” Durant said. “I don’t want to go through that again.”
Durant signed a two-year deal with the Warriors at $54.3 million, with a Player Option for Year 2 — meaning he could have entered free agency again next summer.
