There is no doubt that Zaevion Dobson is the true epitome of a hero.
Last December, the Knoxville 15-year-old football player died while shielding three girls from bullets. Three suspects opened fire on a group of students celebrating the holidays and Dobson jumped on top of the young girls, preventing them from injury.
The Fulton High student was well liked by both his peers and his teachers and served as a mentor to many.
At tonight’s ESPY awards, that courage did not go unnoticed as he was posthumously awarded the Arthur Ashe Courage Award. His family was on hand to accept the award on his behalf.
