James Harden is a superstar, nothing short of amazing on the basketball court, so I don’t like this comparison, simply because the Rockets guard may end up being a better player than the guy he just compared himself to.
After signing an extension worth $118.1 million through the 2019-20 season — James Harden is officially the face of Houston sports — yet tried to get too creative when he joined the Rockets brass in their meetings with free agents.
According to Calvin Watkins of ESPN.com — the Rockets pitched Harden as a more athletic version of Steve Nash.
“I got a little bit of Nash in me. He had his own pace to the game; that’s what I took out of that. You could never speed him up, you could never make him do anything he didn’t want to do, that’s what separated him from any other point guard at the time, which led to two MVPs.”
Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon both signed with Houston — in part — because of Harden’s ability to get to the room and find the open man.
