Dallas is not Miami, but Hassan Whiteside needed one optimistic owner to get the Heat in the frame of mind needed to dole out a max contract.
Whiteside will sign a four-year contract worth 98 million — the maximum the Heat could offer — and the talented big man took to Snapchat and The Players Tribune to make the announcement.
While on Snapchat — young Whiteside channeled his inner Will Smith — blasting “Miami” in the background.
Whiteside averaged 14.2 points, 11.8 rebounds and a league-best 3.7 blocks per game.
