Hassan Whiteside is going to be filthy rich regardless of what the Miami Heat do with the rest of the salary cap space, but the guy who is fresh off of playing for the NBA minimum — is willing to give the Heat a discount if they can sign Kevin Durant.
New info on Whiteside deal: it's not necessarily a 4 for $98M max. He agreed to some wiggle room if Durant wants to come.

Whiteside agreed to a max deal in the $98 million range, but would probably drop that figure down to find room to add Kevin Durant to the roster.
For what it’s worth — Whiteside would have to take less than the max to bring back Dwyane Wade at his asking price as well.
