On Wednesday, The ESPYS will add a new component to the popular awards show by recognizing and honoring three retired athletes with the prestigious Icon Award.
During the 2016 telecast Justin Timberlake will present the honor to Kobe Bryant, Peyton Manning and Abby Wambach in recognition of the immeasurable contributions each of them have made in their respective sports. All three are scheduled to attend and accept the distinction.
The 2016 ESPYS Presented by Capital One will be hosted by John Cena and will feature some of the world’s premier athletes and biggest stars. The 24th annual celebration of the best moments from the year in sports will be televised live from the Microsoft Theater on Wednesday, July 13, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
