The original main event for UFC 200 was supposed to be McGregor vs Diaz II, but the fight was called off and later, pushed back to UFC 202 when McGregor failed to show up for a press conference.
Next, there was controversy regarding Brock Lesnar fighting at the event as reported by Ariel Helwani to fight Mark Hunt even though he is signed by WWE.
The new main event – Jon Jones vs Daniel Cormier – is now off the card because of an apparent failed drug test from Jones leaving Lesnar vs Hunt the lone main event.
In a press conference for UFC 202, McGregor wished Jones well, but also said he’s available this weekend.
“I’m here and in shape. All they gotta do is ask.”
With all the controversy surrounding this event, Dana White shouldn’t mess with the UFC 202 main event by letting McGregor fight last minute and possibly jeopardizing his rematch with Nate Diaz.
