Roy Jones on Fighting 5 More Times (Video)

At 47 years old, former pound-for-pound king Roy Jones Jr. is fully aware that the end is in his cross hairs but he’s not quite ready to hang up the gloves. Speaking to TMZSports.com, Jones Jr. says with the passing of legend Muhammad Ali and the recent retirement of Kobe Bryant, he wants to retire too… but not right away.

The former champion goes on to say he was inspired by Kobe Bryant’s recent farewell tour and he would like to do something similar.

“Kobe retired, but I kinda want to retire too. But I kinda want to do a farewell tour like Kobe did with basketball…what if I did a 5-fight farewell tour and call it a day.”

Jones, who was viciously knocked out by Enzo Maccarinelli in December 2015 and victorious against Vyron Phillips this past March, has been actively campaigning for another title shot cruiserweight limit of 200 pounds. Currently working as HBO’s expert analyst, Jones is shoo-in for the Boxing Hall of Fame, should he retire for five full years.
