Broner previously expressed interest in fighting his “friend” while he bounced back and forth between 140 and 147. It seemed like a good idea when Broner picked up a win against Paulie Malignaggi but things went down the crapper when he came up short against Marcos Maidana in spectacular fashion and dropped back down to 140-ish.
“Man listen, I told you I don’t discriminate. This is a business, this is a business. At the end of the day, if me and Danny fight – we fight. But I respect Danny and love everything he’s doing and want him to keep winning.” I’m willing to fight anybody man.
Both are Haymon fighters and Broner always manages to headline a card no matter what he does outside the ring. Garcia is slated to fight Andre Berto in the fall but who knows what could happen after that.
