All of the chatter, gossip and doubtful comments surrounding the debut of CM Punk will soon come to an end. Punk, or Phil Brooks, will step into the UFC octagon at UFC 203 against the more than capable Mickey Gall.
Before we all witness that spectacle the UFC has decided to give us a glimpse into the life or CM Punk, the MMA fighter.
The premier of “UFC Presents: The Evolution of Punk – The Ground Up” will air on Fox Sports 1 tonight and follow Punk from his humble MMA beginnings to his debut almost 2 years later.
We were lucky enough to receive an advanced screening of the docu-series and here’s 5 reasons every fan on MMA & pro wrestling should watch.
1. Punk’s First Sparring Session
No longer do you have to scour the internet for grainy cell phone footage of CM Punk throwing a few punches at boxing mitts. The debut episode of the series has a 5-6 minute long segment devoted to CM Punk’s first sparring session in March of 2015. Punk takes on a pro MMA fighter with a record of 6-2 and goes 3 full rounds with him before giving an honest assessment of his skills afterwards.
