Let me be the first to say that this matchup would be about as one-sided as you’ll ever see, but if she wants ‘Boogie’ — let’s make that happen.
Brittney Griner playing with the big boys has been a hypothetical conversation for years, but now the Team USA center really wants some tough competition.
“I would love to just go out there and play against (DeMarcus Cousins),” Griner told Sam Amick of USA TODAY Sports. “We talk a lot of crap to each other. I love talking to him. He’s really funny. I would love to just go out there and play against him.”
Griner and Cousins have actually developed a cool relationship over the beginning of the Olympic games, but would the “most dominant” big man in the game really put himself out there like that.
“I’ve never really been around him before until now, but he’s like that big brother, just to talk smack to and who is always competitive,” Griner said. “He’s awesome.”
Cousins says he’s more than ready for a potential one-on-one matchup with the 6-foot-9 Griner.
“Whenever you’re ready to get it on camera and see her get embarrassed, I’m ready for it,” Cousins joked.
Cousins praised Griner’s post moves, and that’s where the conversation should stop.
