Details on A-Rod’s Future With the Yankees

Alex Rodriguez admits he'll be nervous for return

Is the career of Alex Rodriguez done?

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman has been very busy leading up to the trade deadline making the team contenders again in the near future by getting a haul of prospects for trading upcoming free agents Aroldis Chapman, Andrew Miller, Carlos Beltran, and Ivan Nova to contending teams. Nobody expected the Yankees to be sellers because its not their philosophy and George Steinbrenner would not be happy about it if he were still alive, but they did and they’re still not done.

According to Peter Botte of the New York Daily News, the Yankees could be cutting Alex Rodriguez before the end of the season as part of their ongoing youth movement.

While the more likely scenario still seems to be parting ways with A-Rod over the winter, a source familiar with the situation told the Daily News on Monday that there’s a chance releasing the slumping DH “could happen” before the end of this season as part of the team’s ongoing overhaul.

Hopefully, the Yankees learned the lesson and stay away from future deals similar to what they gave Alex Rodriguez in 2007. The only veterans left from the 2009 championship team is Mark Teixieria and CC Sabathia who will also be gone soon. Teixeria is a free agent after this season and Sabathia has one more left giving the Yankees financial stability for the highly-coveted 2018 free agent class.
