Before Steph Curry took the association by storm two seasons ago, many were calling Ray Allen the best shooter to ever live.
After all, the 41-year-old is still the three-point king, as he holds down the top spot with an incredible 2,973 three-pointers made, but he’s not comfortable, according to Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe.
Ray wants to play again. I’m sure about that. I don’t think he particularly enjoys watching Stephen Curry rain 3s and challenge his record and be called the best shooter in the world. I think that bothers him. I know Ray wants to extend his all-time 3-point record.
At Curry’s present pace, it would take him another four to five seasons with at least 300 three-pointers to surpass Allen.
If Allen does comeback, it’ll take Curry a bit longer, but it’s not like Allen would be playing in an extended role, so it wouldn’t make that much of a difference.
Nonetheless, you have to love Allen’s competitiveness.
