LeBron James Jr. may only be 11 years old, but seeing his basketball highlights he is pretty damn good for his age. He is already receiving scholarship offers from the likes of Duke and Kentucky.
Despite of all that, the popular young tween doesn’t own a cell phone. The Cleveland Cavaliers star forward explains why he won’t get his son one during an interview with Sports Illustrated.
“He’s lucky,” LeBron explained about his 11-year old son. “He gets to grow up slower than I did.”
It’s a pretty smart move by James, since he doesn’t need his son to be exposed to the hectic world of dealing with smartphones and social media, at especially at such a young age of 11 years old.
I remember I didn’t get my first cell phone until about middle school, while a bunch of my friends and even my cousins getting theirs when they were about 9 or 10 years old.
I say it’s solid parenting by the King here.
