LeBron’s Open to 2020 Olympics; Reasons Why He Should & Shouldn’t Commit

LeBron hasn't ruled out 2020

The entire world knows this, but it deserves to be mentioned once again.

LeBron James has competed in six straight NBA Finals.

Six!

With that in mind, it came as no surprise to see the 3-time NBA champion skip this summer’s Olympics.

However, LeBron may be regretting his decision.

“Every time I watch ’em, I wish I was out there,” James told ESPN’s Rachel Nichols. “I did not retire from Team USA. I just did not play this summer. So I left the door open.”

Four years from now, the Olympics will be in Tokyo and LeBron will be 35 years of age, which isn’t super old, but he’ll be out his prime.

Should LeBron commit in 2020?

Here’s reasons for and against it the potential move.

1. Passing the ‘Ghost’

A couple weeks ago, LeBron James stated how he’s currently chasing the ‘ghost’ in Chicago, which is obviously Michael Jordan.

LeBron was referring to NBA championships, but if he plays in the 2020 Olympics, he’ll have the chance of doing something Jordan never did and that’s win three Gold medals.

Jordan went two for two in Olympic play, but he decided to forgo the 1996 Olympics.
