Moses Malone Jr. has filed a lawsuit against the V Live strip club for the June 25th incident where he was jumped and robbed of his jewelry, according to the Houston Chronicle. Reports claim the men who jumped him were employees of the club and “friends” of Houston Rockets star James Harden. The incident is alleged to have occurred because of a comment made by Malone regarding the price of Harden’s basketball camp.
The lawsuit filed on behalf of Malone by his attorney, George Farah accuses the club of negligence. Farah said:
They [V Live] didn’t even notify the police. Anytime you provide an establishment where you collect money from customers, you need to provide a safe space for them. ‘V Live’ did not provide a safe space for Mr. Malone as a customer.
The lawsuit is seeking $1 million in damages from the club. Farah and his team will continue to investigate and may add potential defendants to the lawsuit including James Harden.
As I’ve mentioned before, I don’t believe Harden had anything to do with the incident. He frequents the establishment and the bouncers that work there may feel a particular sense of loyalty to the star guard. They may even be his friends. But, Harden ordering them to attack Malone? Seems silly to me. Somehow, the club employees’ [misguided] sense of loyalty, gave them license to come to Harden’s defense over Malone’s Facebook comment. Right…we are here because of a supposed diss about a basketball camp. Ridiculous.
