At 41 years old, Ray Allen is still the NBA’s all-time leader in three-point field goals made. He also has still not officially retired.
Allen has not played since the 2014 season when he was a member of the Miami Heat. However, he remains in excellent shape and has been in talks with two of his former teams, the Celtics and Bucks, as well as a host of others regarding a return to the NBA. The All-Star shooting guard has also been tied to the Cavs and Warriors while the Spurs and Clippers have been mentioned as possible new destinations.
Spike Lee, who directed Allen as Jesus Shuttlesworth in “He Got Game” has reportedly tried to recruit the shooter to the New York Knicks who have revamped their lineup during free agency.
Allen says that he wants to go to a team where he “could help, play a little bit and help where they have good young talent.”
If something isn’t solidified by the start of the season, Allen has decided that he will retire.
