This simple change to the NFL’s injury report policy is really going to make things hard on fantasy football owners.
I often find myself checking a players status in the hours leading up to kickoff. Normally when I see a “probable” I’m very confident that my guy will be active but this luxury has now been taking from me and the million others that play fantasy football.
According to CBS.com, the term “probable” is being removed leaving “questionable, doubtful and out” as the only options that relate to a players’ health.
“The ‘Probable’ category was eliminated from the Game Status Report because approximately 95 percent of the players who were listed as ‘Probable’ in prior years did in fact play in the game,” the league explained.
Before the change, probable meant there was at least a 75 percent chance of a player playing, questionable meant 50 percent and doubtful identified that a players chances were less than 25 percent. With the new rule in place now questionable means it is uncertain if a player will play and doubtful mean its unlikely the player will play.
This is a small change but could cause major issues for unaware fantasy owners. My suggestion would be for you follow BSO on twitter and check with us regularly as we keep the world updated on the inactives.
