As the 49ers are reportedly ready to pledge $1 million dollars to groups that address social inequality, it’s clear that they stand behind their quarterback and respect his decision.
Change is coming soon and little things are being done but the impact is huge. Not only is Colin Kaepernick standing up by not taking a knee during the National Anthem but the proceeds of his jersey sales are being donated to groups that deal with social inequality. The 49ers have stood up and are also going to donate and this amount is a terrific start. They are reportedly going to donate $1 million dollars.
The San Francisco 49ers have reportedly pledged to donate $1 million to two groups in Northern California that address social inequality, according to ESPN’s Jim Trotter.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport confirmed the news Thursday and added that the donations will be made to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation and The San Francisco Foundation.
The 49ers’ gesture comes on the heels of quarterback Colin Kaepernick‘s decision to remain seated for the national anthem before preseason games in a silent protest against social injustice.
This is only the beginning.
