One NFL owner is speaking up in regards to players kneeling during the national anthem in protest of social injustices faced by African-Americans and other minority groups in the United States. Dolphins owner Stephen Ross spoke to the media after the game on Sunday, and explained that he saw no disrespect in what any of the players that felt the urge to kneel were doing. Ross went on to say that he fully supports all of them, including four Dolphins players that chose to kneel during the anthem on Sunday.
“I don’t think there was any lack of respect,” Ross said. “Everyone in this team and whole organization respects the flag and what it stands for. These guys are making a conversation about something that’s very important topic in this country. I’m 100 percent in support of them.”
In a time when it seems that many people are missing the message that the players are trying to convey, it’s refreshing to see others have an open mind and understanding of what is really going on.
