Fat Joe Responds To Anti-Kaepernick Backlash; Says Staff Did It (Video)

Fat Joe took to Facebook live to respond to the backlash from fans for his tweets regarding Colin Kaepernick’s right to protest during the playing of the National Anthem. In the tweets Joe says he’s anti-protesting the National Anthem and that people should lead with actions instead of reactions.

In the nearly 22 minute long video, Joe says he is not responsible for the tweets but instead someone from his social media team acted as Fat Joe and expressed their own personal opinions instead of disseminating only what he instructed them to do. To ensure his full message was heard, the All The Way Up rapper also issued the following statement on Instagram directing followers to view his full message on Facebook:

“Earlier today one of my friend told me that I had tweeted something against people protesting their beliefs. I’m so busy I have a social media team that helps me and one of them took it upon himself to think he’s Fat Joe and say something I would never say about social injustice. I call it how I see it overtime. See my full response on Facebook.”

Whether or not the statements were made by Joe or a member of his staff remains to be seen but he may want to adopt the DJ Khaled approach and maintain control over his social media in the future.
