According to adidas “Sport needs creators,” this is the theme of the apparel company’s latest ad campaign. The commercial features James Harden, Von Miller, Aarron Rodgers, Kris Bryant and Paul Pogba among others. adidas is imploring all athletes to use their imagination and genius to be different and not just another cog in the sports machine. Harden is a good face for the campaign as he oozes imagination both on and off the court, some of the other athlete’s, creators sure. But, imagination and genius? Meh.
The commercial is clean, has a decent voice over and score but it isn’t anything we haven’t already seen. Like most things adidas tries to do in the sports world, Nike has already done it, and done it better. The trouble for adidas is now Under Armour also does it better. Again, it’s a fine commercial but we’ve seen it before and seen it done better.
