Colin Kaepernick is doing something a lot of Americans can’t fathom doing, and that is simply putting his money where his mouth is.
After a pretty good performance in the 49ers preseason finale — Kaepernick used his post game presser to explain that he is actively working with justice organizations behind the scenes and will be donating the first $1,000,000 from his salary this season to fund justice work.
The 49ers embattled star made it clear that he has no interest in just “talking things” — even laying out a clear plan of action that he termed “boots on the ground.”
Kaepernick stated that he will be involved w/several organizations, while working hand in hand to solve some of the problems that are plaguing this nation.
“The media painted this as I’m anti-American, anti-men-and-women of the military and that’s not the case at all,’’ Kaepernick said.
“I realize that men and women of the military go out and sacrifice their lives and put themselves in harm’s way for my freedom of speech and my freedoms in this country and my freedom to take a seat or take a knee so I have the utmost respect for them.”
“Once again, I’m not anti-American’’ — “I love America.”
