Mary J. Blige is not afraid of controversy, even when it the act has the potential to make the R&B diva seem as if she’ coonin.
Having finally lived the Burger King fiasco — Blige is going to take plenty of heat from critics for singing to Hillary Clinton about police brutality, in a preview for an interview.
Prior to the world tuning in to watch the first debate between the U.S. presidential candidates on Monday night (Sept. 26), Apple Music released a clip of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton being interviewed on “The 411 with Mary J. Blige.”
In the one-minute preview of their sit-down, Blige serenades Clinton with a song about police violence:
“It ain’t no secret, my friend/ You can get killed just for living in your American skin.”
“I just want to know, where do we go from here?”
The episode of “The 411,” a Beats 1 radio show, premieres Friday (Sept. 30) on Apple Music.
