Did you assume Phil Brooks would fade silently into MMA obscurity after his embarrassing loss to Mickey Gall? It looks like you are wrong but don’t feel bad, you aren’t alone.
Any logical person would urge Punk to take smaller shows and develop his skills but the executives at the UFC don’t think logically, they think monetarily.
CM Punk brought in an estimated 200k PPV buys and they say the comeback is always better than the original.
The next hurdle will be finding Punk an evenly matched opponent… Done.

Both Punk & Jackson lost to Gall in quick fashion within the octagon and both now have UFC experience. Punk and the UFC may see this as the perfect opportunity to give Punk a victory in the promotion and allow him to ride off into the sunset as a .500 fighter.
I’m sure Mike Jackson has other plans in mind.
