Dallas Cowboys, owner, general manager and coach, Jerry Jones is changing his stance on the team’s starting quarterback situation. Rookie Dak Prescott has led the Cowboys to a 4-1 record and is playing well. The team’s long time starter and veteran quarterback Tony Romo is recovering from injury and not due to return until week 8. The question around Dallas is, if the Cowboys continue to play well, will Romo get his starting spot back?
Jerry appearing on his weekly spot via 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday was non committal regarding Romo. The Fort Worth Star Telegram’s Drew Davison who covers the Cowboys tweeted Jerry’s responses to questions about the brewing controversy.

Romo is aiming at a week 8 return but there are no guarantees. If the Cowboys continue to play well in his absence, there is no need to throw off team chemistry. Football is about routine and continuity. Eight weeks is half the season, and if the Cowboys are on top of the division and look poised for the playoffs inserting Romo into the dynamic may throw off what the team has built all season. Either way this will continue to be a story and a sideshow as nobody does it better than Jerry’s Cowboys.
