The day of reckoning has finally arrived for Conor McGregor and his deliberate bottle throw at Nate Diaz during the UFC 202 final press conference.
According to MMAJunkie.com, on Monday the Nevada State Athletic Commission voted unanimously to fine McGregor five percent of his UFC 202 disclosed pay amounting to $150,000. In addition to the fine McGregor will have to utilize half of the $150K to fund, and appear, in a public service announcement against bullying and perform 50 hours of community service.
Initially McGregor maintained that he was acting in self-defense in the incident but later conceded he was wrong and took ownership for his behavior during the mega-fight week.
“I acted wrong, and all I will say is I’m sorry for this. This was a high stakes fight for me.”
McGregor avenged his loss Diaz at UFC 202 after being defeated by Diaz in March 2016.
