It appears Chip Kelly is all in on Colin Kaepernick, as the San Francisco 49ers are reportedly set to sign the quarterback to a restructured contract that will pave the way for him to become the teams starting quarterback.
The deal would pave the way for the Niners to have injury protection in the contract, while allowing Kaepernick to void his deal next season.

For Kaepernick, the deal gives him the opportunity to play well and allow himself a chance to test the free market next year.
