Noah Skips Knicks’ Dinner With Cadets; Doesn’t Understand Kids Fighting at War

Joakim NoahThe New York Knicks are holding their 3rd consecutive training camp in West Point, N.Y., the home of the U.S. Military Academy. Everyone attended that camp as expected but the annual dinner with cadets was missing a new face, Joakim Noah.

Noah, one of the newest members of the Knicks, is anti-war and he’s standing up for what be believes in. According to TheScore.com, Noah didn’t attend the dinner for several reasons but mainly because of his feelings towards kids fighting at war.

“I wasn’t there to be honest with you. It’s hard for me a little bit. I have a lot of respect for kids who are out here fighting. But it’s hard for me to understand why we have to go to war, why kids have to kill kids around the world. So I have mixed feelings about being here. I’m very proud of this country. I love America but I just don’t understand kids killing kids around the world.”

Coach Hornacek accepts and understands Noah’s discussion not to attend.

“That’s his right. He wants to be a part of the team group and do everything the team is doing. He just didn’t feel comfortable. We’re not going to pressure him into doing that.”
