Last season, the NBA & Adidas partnered up to create a pretty weird-looking jersey design and labeled it the “Pride Series”.
The Denver Nuggets made the unfortunate decision to list theirs as the “White Pride” set:
After receiving a considerable (and understandable) amount of backlash & criticism, the Nuggets decided “white pride” probably shouldn’t be listed anywhere they do business and changed it to “White Gold”.
The weird thing is the SAME issue occurred last season, backlash and all.
Not sure if whoever is in charge of these things over at NBA.com thinks they’re a daytime comedian, or is just not as intelligent as they need to be; but the fact this happened twice in two seasons is an issue and should probably be addressed. But we know that won’t happen, at least not publicly.
