Raiders Marquette King is Best Punter in NFL & a Pretty Cool Guy

marquette-king-raiders

If you wake up in the world one day and realize NFL punters are super cool — Marquette King will be the guy you thank.

Talk about a hustler’s ambition — according to The New Yorker — King was recruited to be a wide receiver at Fort Valley State, but struggled to get on the field.

Needing to do something to retain his scholarship — Marquette taught himself how to punt, eventually moving on to the NFL, where he beat out Chris Kluwe to win the Raiders punting job, replacing Shane Lechler.

King like Reggie Roby in my generation — is currently the leagues only black punter — which makes him even more special, because not only does he have wheels

He can really kick also, booming the ball with regularity like the kick seen below in the video courtesy of SB Nation:

Or how bout an 87-yard kick that drives like an Aaron Rodgers hail mary?

King is also quite the personality, heating up social media with dope quotes:

Showing up to camp as a $16 million power ranger

Lending a beat to a Monday Victory Flow:

Or dabbin with a dog as a dog:

??? Dog Dabbin!

Kudos to Marquette King — and get to know best punter in the NFL and the only black punter in the league as well.
