The Denver Broncos defensive coordinator was carted off on a stretcher Sunday after being hit by a San Diego Chargers Melvin Gordon.
Midway through the second quarter, Gordon went out-of-bounds after an interception and knocked Phillips to the ground.

Phillips was taken to the hospital as a precaution. He had use of all his extremities was responsive and alert.
Wade Phillips has been released from the hospital and is expected back at work Monday, according to the Broncos' @psmyth12.
