With 2016 coming to a close, fans remain hopeful for a future fight between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin.
With no definitive next assignment date in sight, Golovkin has to fight someone while he awaits the road to Canelo to reopen. Challengers to Golovkin’s title love to surface on social media with aggressive twitter fingers but fail to materialized in the ring. The latest being a retired Carl Froch.
Hey you! @Carl_Froch don’t judge who is credible or not. You are another clown who talks too much without stepping up to actually do things

Adding fire to the flame, Tom Loeffler and Eddie Hearn teased fans with the possibility when they posted a selfie earlier this month.

If this fight materializes, Wembley will likely sell out faster than Golovkin’s fight against Kell Brook and we lose GGG to the Brits once more. Is this match-up a real option or a smoke screen to settle fans down before dropping the Canelo vs. GGG bomb?
If Froch vs Golovkin at Wembley or Canelo vs Golovkin in LA/TX/Mars fails to materialize, here are a few other dancing partners for GGG.
