Iman Shumpert Explains Why He Won’t Be Visiting Trump White House if Cavs Win Title

iman-shumpert-donald-trumpThe Cavaliers recently visited the White House in honor of winning their NBA Championship. However, if the same occurs next year, one player, Iman Shumpert, states he will not be visiting Donald Trump’s White House.

It’s been about a month since Donald Trump won the election and many have begun their own protests. The Canadian immigration website was down and others are planning ahead. Cavaliers player Iman Shumpert has spoken up about his Trump stance and quite simply said that he will not be visiting Donald Trump’s White House.

“I’m not going to the White House,” was Shumpert’s simple answer.

Shumpert was interviewed by Complex and they took this opportunity to get some questions answered. He elaborated more on his political views.

I understand people’s stance on Trump. I can’t get caught up in the racial, sexist bullshit he’s got going on. That’s his personal thing, ya dig? But I just don’t think he can make anything shake like that. He not finna start no civil war out here. I do think he’s crazy—straight up. I think he did that stuff to get people to think he’s willing to shake it up. But did I vote for him? No. The other stuff that comes with him, I can’t get with. But now that he’s here, I’m not finna drag my feet. I gotta work here, at least until the offseason, if I wanna go get a crib in the Islands.

Shumpert is just standing up for what he believes in and for that, we applaud him.
