It seems like every week, Josh Norman is getting talked about for something more than football on the field. His matchup with Odell Beckham was everywhere and the two couldn’t stop bickering about each other.
Now, he’s moved onto Dez Bryant. After the game, Dez & Norman got into it on the field and back in the locker rooms when they were each asked about what happened and it spilled onto social media courtesy of Dez.
NFL Network’s Michael Irvin had a lot to say about the feud on NFL Gameday Morning. He along with along with Kurt Warner agreed that the feud is hurting this really good matchup.
Irvin said,
I enjoy those battles. But I enjoy within the game. Not just Josh, Dez is going to put out film where he shows he was beating Josh. They didn’t throw you the ball! I don’t want to see that. It doesn’t matter. Let’s be real here, all Dez should have said was ‘I won the game, man. We won the game, we’re 10-1 and we’re moving on.’ … But on the football field, let’s play football. I’ve been in great one-on-one battles, and there’s some great cornerbacks that are wearing gold jackets today. And I’ve never seen some of the stuff that I’ve seen.
Irvin mentions that Dez shouldn’t have gone on Twitter saying he going to show film of him beating Norman, when the ball wasn’t thrown to you. It’s irrelevant. All Dez had to was say we’re 10-1. That’s it.
He also says that Norman is too concerned with specific stats and the only thing that matters in the W’s or L’s.

Then, he really got on Norman about his antics on the field. When he went up against OBJ, it was more about OBJ containing his emotions and not letting Norman get in his head but Norman was being extra however the focus was on Beckham in the end. Now, we see what he’s doing with Dez.
This could be a part of his game because they both reacted and you want to throw your opponent off.
Here’s what Irvin said in detail,
We don’t talk about this enough with Josh Norman. Watch the stuff that Josh Norman has done on the football field. But we spend so much time talking about Odell Beckham that we don’t talk about all the extra stuff. Picking people up, bodyslamming people, he did that both times in the battle against Odell Beckham. This time, he’s grabbing Dez’s foot, twisting his foot. It’s like ‘Come on man, play the game of football.’ You got talent, you want to be a shutdown corner, shut it down on the football field between the whistles. Don’t be doing all of that junk. Every week it’s something. One week Josh is arguing about the referee 88, now this week it’s Dez Bryant 88, I don’t know who it’s going to be what 88 next week. Just play football.
Norman spoke about Dez with NFL Network Insider Ian Rappaport and said this,
“It just baffles me that we’re going back and forth,” Norman told NFL.com by phone after a day of reflection, watching countless media outlets focus on Dez Bryant’s comments after their Thanksgiving showdown. “I don’t know if there really is anything to say. What am I going to go back and forth for? It’s not a battle. It’s not a competition when the other person don’t show up. What am I competing against? I compete against myself every week.”
And that’s how Josh Norman feels about it.
What are your thoughts about this?
