Rondo’s Classic Response to Finding Out Ray Allen Had Retired

One of the great players in NBA history, Ray Allen, officially announced his retirement today. His ex-teammate with the Celtics, Rajon Rondo, was asked about the announcement. Rondo’s answer was classic.

To be fair, Allen last played during the 2013-2014 season and the full statement from Rondo included, “But he had a hell of a career.”

Most people remember Allen as the sharpshooter that spent the end of his career with the Celtics and Heat winning a couple championships. But, when he entered the league in 1996 as a member of the Bucks and those years in Seattle, he was one of the best off guards of his era. Explosive first step, good hops and could get to the rack and finish.
