The Clay County, West Virginia Mayor and a Director of Development are under fire after a racist post on Facebook about Michelle Obama and the comments that followed.
According to CBS News Pamela Taylor, a woman who works as the director at the Clay County Development Corporation in Clay, posted the following on her Facebook page:
“It will be refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified First Lady in the White House. I’m tired of seeing an ape in heels.”
Beverly Whaling, the Mayor of Clay, then responded
“Just made my day Pam.”
The post was removed but not before thousands saw it, shared it, and started a petition calling for their respective dismissals. In the aftermath of the post, and subsequent public outcry, Taylor says it wasn’t racist in it’s intent and wasn’t about skin color.
OF COURSE it wasn’t. Because apes are the only animals in the universe and have NEVER been likened to black people.
Fire em. Bye Felicias.
