Does Seantrel Henderson have a case against the NFL for his latest suspension?
According to The Buffalo News, the Bills right tackle will be suspended for the second time this season because of marijuana use. He accepted the first suspension of four games, but will appeal his second of ten games and plans to fight the NFL in court.
Henderson was not on the field as the team practiced Thursday morning. He was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice and not listed on the injury report. A league source said Henderson missed practice for a doctor’s appointment – on Thanksgiving – in relation to his ongoing battle with Crohn’s disease. Henderson served a four-game suspension to start the 2016 season for violating the NFL’s drug policy. The reason for that suspension, according to Henderson, was his use of medicinal marijuana to treat the disease. Henderson underwent two separate surgeries after he was diagnosed with Crohn’s late last year, during which doctors removed more than 80 centimeters of his infected intenstines.
Henderson’s use of marijuana goes back to his career at the University of Miami where he was suspended three times for it. He reiterates that his use of the banned substance is for medical purposes and says doctors tell him it’s the best cure for his disease.
