Cooper Bateman has no time to waste, so after watching Jalen Hurts take over the college football world as a true freshman, the junior quarterback is transferring from Alabama AL.com’s Matt Zenitz reports.
Bateman, a redshirt junior, was expected to be the starter last spring — then lost the job to Redshirt Freshman Blake Barnett — who subsequently lost the job to true freshman Jalen Hurts.
Barnett actually started the Tide’s season opener against USC but transferred to a junior college after just four games of Hurts dominance.
Bateman has completed 12 of 14 passes for 119 yards on the season.
