The Orlando Magic have been lost in the sauce for some time now. Ever since Dwight Howard left, that franchise hasn’t been the same. They’ve been in the draft lottery and drafted some decent players like Victor Oladipo, Tobias Harris and Maurice Harkless but traded them away. They looked like they could’ve been a young upstart team much like the Thunder were and what the T’Wolves are now but it didn’t pan out that way.
They’re a struggling franchise that does have a bright spot in Evan Fournier and they do have an attraction in Aaron Gordon but that’s really it. However, their CEO Alex Martins is optimistic about their chances of winning a title.
Orlando Sentinel reports Martins stating that he believes the Magic will win at least one title by 2030. Here’s what he said,
I certainly believe by 2030 we will have won at least one championship,” Martins said. “And I say ‘at least.’ I firmly believe we’re going to get there and once you get there, you got the kind of team that hopefully can come back.
Unless LeBron, Benjamin Buttons himself and ends up on the Magic, it’s HARD to see the Magic winning a title by 2030. Things can happen in 14 years but what are the odds THOSE things are going to happen with Orlando.
However, the Cubs did end their drought and the Cavs brought home their first title and ended Cleveland’s drought as well.
There’s always a chance.
