During the 1999-2000 NBA season, then rookie Rip Hamilton had the opportunity to play with the great Michael Jordan. Like many kids growing up, Rip grew up idolizing Jordan.
However, Rip received a major reality check when asking the great one if he could be a part of the Jordan brand. In classic MJ fashion, he responded by saying “Rip, my sneaker is for all-stars”.

While the words from MJ were harsh, it was probably the best thing to ever happen to Rip, as he went on to be a three-time all-star.
